Mission Statement
To partner with Native American Tribes as energy experts to help Tribes achieve their strategic objectives by empowering our client Tribes to fully control and maximize their energy assets now and for future generations.
Indian Country Energy Services (ICES) is a Native Owned company founded on the principle of making a long term difference throughout Indian Country.
ICES accomplishes this through supporting Tribes in leveraging existing energy usage and natural resources to support revenue generation & diversification, job training & creation, micro grid development and all other facets of energy
planning based on Tribal goals and objectives.
ICES began with four Founding Partners with backgrounds both in Indian Country and in energy. ICES President Brian Patterson (Oneida Nation) is also the United South & Eastern Tribe's (USET) President serving his third consecutive term and is well versed in working to meet the needs of the Tribes he represents. With President Patterson at the helm, ICES created a business model that provides the majority of services with no fee to the Tribes.
Founding Partner Jannine Salo has decades of experience working within Indian Country. Ms. Salo has worked as a trusted adviser with Tribes, Tribal organizations & Tribal businesses nationwide to assess, strategize, facilitate, & implement a multitude of projects for the past several years. Her Executive Leadership Training at Cornell University combined with studies towards her Masters degree in Community Economic Development with a focus in Indian Country enable her to combine extensive experience and education to best serve our clients.
Founding Partner Bill Thibodeau is an Energy Economist and is known as one of the leading experts in energy planning. His procurement strategies are recognized nationally for incorporating indirect & direct organizational objectives into executable client energy planning. As a former government employee and with decades of experience within various facets of energy, he is uniquely qualified to aid Tribes in finding the most appropriate solutions based on the Tribes needs and goals.
Founding Partner Avi Schoenfeld has decades of experience developing and executing business plans & strategies. He is an expert in identifying the feasibility of bringing new products to market, identifying government regulatory issues and identifying & recruiting investors. Mr. Shoenfeld is also a Natural Gas & Electricity Expert and brings years of experience in all areas of natural gas and electricity.
This combined expertise enables ICES to be a one of a kind partner to support Tribes in meeting their Tribal energy needs, goals, & objectives.
